LRS : Lab, Radiology, Surgery

The Lab, Radiology and Surgery departments can have multiple service locations for patients. In addition, they are each receiving faxed orders from physician offices and directly from patients. With any fax server an order can be received at the Lab, Radiology or Surgery location, scanned, indexed, and stored in a central location so that all service locations have access to it. When the patient comes in for a service, the Lab, Radiology or Surgery staff can retrieve the order regardless of where the order was received or which service location the patient goes to.

• All orders are scanned into the Orders file cabinet
• HL7 populates patient demographics
• Order is routed to a Task List,
• Departments view the order for the patient
• Patient receives service
• LAB stamps the order COMPLETE and the order is removed from the Task List
• Order is exported (Moved) from Orders to HIM for review
